On Sept. 26, 2013, the Deseret News reported that Gov.Gary Herbert (R) said he is “weighing the options” to come up with “a Utah solution” for Medicaid expansion. Herbert has put together a legislative task
force and a work group to consider options to expand Medicaid in the state.
“When we make this decision, it will be well-thought out, all ramifications
will be understood, and it will include as many points of view as possible,”
Herbert said. In August, Herbert said the decision will not be made until 2014.
